IFZA vs DMCC: which Dubai free zone is right for you?
Two of Dubai's most popular free zones compared on cost, visas, prestige and the type of business each suits best.
IFZA and DMCC are two of the most searched-for free zones in Dubai, and for good reason — they sit at very different points on the cost and prestige spectrum. Here is how they actually compare.
Cost
IFZA offers two tiers: IFZA Freelancer starts from AED 5,750 for solo founders and consultants, while IFZA Business — the all-rounder for companies planning to add a visa — starts from AED 15,650 as an all-in package fee. DMCC Prime starts from AED 22,500. Residence visas are priced and applied for separately on every package, regardless of free zone. DMCC costs more up front, largely reflecting its physical office requirement and premium positioning.
Reputation and use case
DMCC is the world's most-recognised free zone for trading and commodities, and it carries real weight with banks and international partners. IFZA is a fast, cost-effective all-rounder favoured by consultants, agencies and smaller trading companies that don't need a JLT office address.
Visas and office space
IFZA offers flexible flexi-desk arrangements suited to lean teams, with visas added per person as your team grows. DMCC packages include physical office options in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, which supports a larger visa quota as your headcount grows.
Which one is right for you
If you're commodities, trading or want maximum international credibility, DMCC is worth the premium. If you're a solo founder or early-stage consultant watching cash flow, IFZA Freelancer gets you licensed fast at the lowest cost; once you're ready to hire and sponsor visas, IFZA Business is the natural upgrade.
