One of the most common questions we get is simply: what do I actually need to have ready? Here's the standard checklist.

For every application

A valid passport copy for each shareholder, a passport-style photo, and your chosen business activity and company name options. Most free zones can proceed with just this to get started.

If you're adding a visa

You'll also need to complete a medical fitness test and provide Emirates ID biometrics once your licence is issued — these happen after company formation, not before.

For mainland setups specifically

Mainland companies may require a tenancy contract (Ejari) and, depending on the activity, additional external approvals from sector-specific regulators.

What you don't need

No notarised documents, no in-person visits, and no paid-up capital deposit for most free zone activities. Everything is uploaded securely through your application.

The form only asks for what your specific package actually needs.
